Live monitoring

What Ody watches, and what you can do about it

Sitting on the LAN, Ody finds and watches gear that cloud-only tools never see.

Discovers more devices

Ody finds and watches gear that cloud-only tools never see, including kit with no cloud account and no SSO.

Continuous health checks

Live telemetry on every projector, display, processor, DSP and camera — grouped by site and room, with status at a glance.

Control & reboot remotely

Power, mute, recall a preset or hard-reboot a frozen device straight through the tunnel. No truck roll, no exposed credentials, no VPN to wrangle.

Brand-agnostic protocols

PJLink, Q-SYS QRC, Crestron, AMX NetLinx, ONVIF, SSH, SNMP and HTTP APIs — any vendor, one pane.

Vendor clouds via SSO

Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco Webex Control Hub, Zoom Rooms, Crestron XiO Cloud, Q-SYS Reflect, Logitech Sync and Poly Lens federate in through your IdP.

Outbound-only tunnel

Ody dials home over an encrypted connection. No inbound ports to open on your firewall, no gear exposed to the internet, nothing installed on devices.

Fix it first

Live telemetry means the fault is spotted — and fixed — before the room notices

The old way is a phone call from the boardroom and a remote-desktop scramble. With AVDesk it is an alert before the meeting starts and a reboot from wherever you are.

  • Alerts before users notice — device offline, monitoring check failed, switch uplink or PoE budget problems.
  • Wakeup checks for teaching spaces that have to work at 8am.
  • Every remote command is recorded so you can always answer "who did what, when".
  • Estate health scores and uptime reports you can hand straight to leadership.
AVDesk Ody monitoring — live device health across a site

In practice

Up and running in three steps

An AVDesk integrator installs Ody. One of our accredited integrators installs and commissions Ody — the on-site AV control server — at each of your sites. No rack rebuild, nothing to install on your gear.

Ody discovers the estate. Ody finds the devices on the local network and links them back to your AVDesk control centre over an encrypted tunnel, ready to monitor and control. Each discovered device lands in a validation queue for you to approve into the asset register, so the register never drifts from reality.

Choose how it's run. Run it self-managed with your own AV or IT team, or choose AVDesk Managed Support and we'll watch the monitoring, work the tickets and meet the SLAs for you. Monitoring is included for every room — priced per room.

Questions

Good to know

What is Ody?
Ody is AVDesk's on-site AV control server. An accredited AVDesk integrator installs and commissions one at each site; it discovers the devices on the local network, monitors and controls them, and connects back to our control centre over an encrypted tunnel. Because it sits on the LAN, it reaches far more gear than cloud-only tools.
Does AVDesk support single sign-on (SSO)?
Yes. The on-site Ody server already reaches every device on the LAN — including gear with no cloud account at all — and for vendors that do offer a cloud, AVDesk federates in via SSO (SAML / OIDC), so cloud-capable kit and on-prem kit live side by side.
Do I need to open firewall ports?
No. Ody dials home over an outbound-only encrypted connection, so there are no inbound ports to open and no equipment exposed to the internet.
